Happy Mammary Monday

Happy Mammary Monday! Although if you're like me, you'll feel like we somehow went from Thursday to Monday, without a weekend. Whoever said Time is a constant is/was on crack. But it's definitely Monday again, and I thought I'd present a book that can be informative, amusing, and useful!
Some of us (I include myself) would never, ever be interested in making our breasts any larger than they are. In fact, if the book promised to help shrink them to a size where I could buy cute lacy bras instead of hammocks big enough for a honeymooning couple to string up between two palm trees on the beach, I would be first in line to buy. So, for those of you who would for some reason like to increase the weight you carry around your neck and across your back muscles, this may be the book for you! I'm a little puzzled, though, about what exactly we're seeing on the cover. I see the boobs, surrounded by a black swimsuit, but is that a chubby arm on the near side, and another on the far side? Or some other body part?

Then, for those of you who would like to improve other parts of your female anatomy, here's another potentially useful book. Not only can you color in the pictures, but you can learn new hairstyles for your vajayjay. My favorite comment on Amazon.com: "The Big Coloring Book of Vaginas isn't just a coloring book. It's inspiration. When first presented with this, I strummed through it thinking it was a joke. But I soon realized that this is a guidebook for redecorating your vagina, especially if it's been around awhile and you feel like you've run out of new ways to dress it up. I put aside the crayons, except to use to draw in accessories like scarves and snoods, in favor of spray glitter, various stick-on mustaches, mini-flower and seed arrangements. (I didn't like the seeds -- too elementary school, hence, creepy. You don't want a bean and seed turkey down there, believe me!) My current favorite is stick-on beadwork in an ornate Tiffany-esque peacock design. (Tip: surprise your ob/gyn with a beadwork speculum! He'll flip!) Also, if it's your bridal day, try a delicate self-adhesive Velcro surprise for your honeymoon. Your partner will never forget it!"

Unemployed? Broke?

Feeling a little short on cash at the end of the month? Check out this book -- it'll truly change your life.

I stole this from Monday's Fail Blog. I couldn't find any evidence that it's a real book, but it made me laugh. I hope it brightens your day too.

I see dead people!

I don't know which makes me laugh harder, the title or the picture. Let's start with the picture. Doesn't this look like your junior high school spring dance? The girls are all huddled together, and a poor guy is trapped in the corner, unable to get past them without them noticing, and being forced to listen to them talk about how cute this boy is, and how sexy that one is, knowing he'll never make the list. He's so far below their notice that they don't even see him there. Of course, for their part, they are enviously eyeing the girls who have dates and dance partners, and sadly contemplate dancing with each other just to be out there where the action is.

The title is hilarious! I need to see if my library has this book! I guess the guy is supposed to be a ghost, but he just looks like a creepy stalker. Just think, next time you think you're alone, you could really have some nicely coiffed ghost "attached" to you. Think it's safe to pick your nose or scratch an itch (one that would not be socially acceptable to scratch)? Only if you don't care if the dead are watching!!! And maybe touching you. Like a stalker, but worse! No restraining order can save you!! Out, demon! The power of Christ compels you!!

Phallic Phriday: Republican Tools Edition

"Okay, Sven, for this pose I want you to reach down, grab your ankles, and think about Austria."

"Oh, Chad! Your pole is so long and hard, I don't think I can contain it with just two hands!"

Picking on Focus on the Family

As long as we're picking on James Dobson and Focus on the Family (always a favorite past-time around my house), Preparing for Adolescence apparently involves pegging your jeans and humping a street sign and wearing all denim.

Viva las '80s, no?

Think Like a Cat and Other Useless Wastes of Time

That cat is thinking:

Oooh! Shiny! Creepy woman, staring at me! Fluffy hair. Want to scratch. Is that a bug?!? Must kill! Itch!!! Feline behaviorist, my ass! Wall...mmmmm...fascinating wall. Red and yellow are NOT good colors to be dancing above my head. Creepy woman still staring at me!! She twists whiskers! Get away!! Shiny camera, must topple. Destruction! Mmmmm, bug.

In other news, this blog has been named as one of the Ten Blogs to Read in 2008 by LISNews (I voted for the effing librarian, myself...sorry, eff!). I must say I am unbelievably chuffed, and promise to only use my powers for good. Ooooh, shiny! Destruction!

So, what do YOU think the cat is thinking?

Giant Creepy Baby Edition

This is a super popular book here in the library. And it creeps me the feck out:

Everything about this cover worries me (the "recovery classics" and Dr. Nuckols especially...well, Nuckols doesn't worry me so much as make me laugh like a 10 year-old boy), but I just can't get beyond that picture. Um, ewwwww. I know this post would be better if I could snark on it, but I'm just so freaked out!

Speaking of freaked out:

The picture isn't the best, so I'll describe this cover to you. Naked woman. See-through stomach. GIANT CREEPY FETUS! Now we know where some of the ideas for 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien came from. That baby is all out of proportion, too. Can you imagine passing a thing the size of that head through a hole the size of a grapefruit? Not pretty. I do, however, recommend that you go to the library right now and check out a copy of this book, if only for the pictures inside. It'll make you rethink ever touching a member of the opposite sex (member--heh heh--the 10 year-old boy is at it again!).

Call me an anti-life, childless-by-choice, militant feminazi, but I prefer the cute to the creepy.

Ahhh, there's a baby-in-body that I can deal with.
