OMG!! If THAT is what's coming to me, I'm not waiting until it arrives!! It's a giant, levitating, half-headed baby! Run for your lives!!
I honestly can't tell what they were thinking. The book is a comedic novel, according to amazon, and takes place at a Southern university. Ok, that explains the buildings. But what's so funny about a ginormous, angry-looking baby without clothes?
Being an avowed non-mom, I would never, ever pick up this book. I'm curious about the rest of you, especially the moms. Does this attract or repel you?

It will come to me... and it will EAT ME!!
Nope, the diaper sag so elegantly centered makes me want to run screaming.
Babies are cute, but when you lop off the tops of their heads and make them stagger through the sky like some drunk god, I find they are less cute.

I'm a mom and I find that creepy!!
I was a stay-at-home dad and am in no fear of babies or their diapers and I wouldn't even touch that book if I saw it on the shelves.
Mom here--no, not attractive. Kinda creepy.
Non-mom here I might if I saw this book in the library, borrow it just to see if the cover art made any kind of sense, but not in the hmm-giant-half-headed-baby-this-looks-like-my-kind-of-book sense. On second thought, I would probably only borrow the book if every other book I had ever thought about reading was already checked out of the library.
Non-mom. This book cover reinforces that decision. Lordy.
I really love babies, to the point of gleefully whistling while changing diapers, but this is just...creepy. Not to mention I'd need a crane to change its diapers.
Maybe it's about gruesome experiments at that university and the mutant giant baby breaks out and attacks earth? Lots of tanks and booboos involved.
In a comedic way.
I have two children. I love kids. I think kids are great and never mind have them around.
But put them on a cover levitating in a soon to be befouled diaper, and I'm not buying that book. I mean, had the baby been stomping around and squishing people between it's fat toes, I might have considered reading the back cover, but just levitating? No.
Can't comment from the mom-point, but from a graphic designers viewpoint this just shoddily slapped together. Not only is the baby headless, it's pose is simply not cute from that angle. Why not lower the baby from the sky on it's back, smiling? And the author's name being the cradle.
This would create a totally different expression. And the diaper would not take the centerfold anymore...
PS: Sorry for the rant, as an artist and designer I simply can't stand such abominations.
PPS:Love the lonely "a novel" stuck all the way on the top
File this under: What were they thinking?
It doesn't even make sense. The baby is hovering above a university building or something? Pffff
Non-mom here. My first thought was that the giant baby was going to crush the university underfoot.
My second thought was, "It's Baby Jesus, and this time he's pissed."
As a mom, I'd probably pick the book up simply to laugh at the ridiculousness of the cover. But then I have certain triggers that always make me pick up books and the buildings on this cover are one of those triggers, so the baby is sort of just coming along for the ride.
I am a mom. But that cover makes me want to run away screaming "WTF ever was that crazy piece of $#!t???"
